White palette knife on recycled black cardboard

Out of the void, she emerges — not painted but carved from light. Each stroke of the knife is deliberate, a single gesture of white pigment dragged across the raw dark of reclaimed cardboard, building form through texture rather than line.

The swan takes shape as an act of restraint and courage — the palette knife allowing no correction, no blending, no retreat. This work continues her ongoing black and white series — a body of work devoted to distilling form to its essence, where every piece is an exercise in trust: trust in the knife, trust in the contrast, trust in what can be said with only two tones and a steady hand. Here, the swan is not simply depicted. She is summoned — poised, silent, and complete — a new form drawn from the edge of what the artist already knows, and the edge of what she is still discovering.
